We picked up our S-Works Enduro at the weekend. Looks great and feels light. We can hardly wait for snow to melt away! More photos here…

We received some great news today amid sleet pouring from the sky: Our 2013 S-Works Enduro is now waiting for to be picked up from our dealer! The bike actually arrived about a month earlier than we had expected. While it's still a long way to go to the Scandinavian MTB season, we are very excited to get our hands on this gorgeous bike.

Two features that we are particularly excited about are SRAM's brand new 11-speed drivetrain XX1 and a new suspension geometry of the 2013 Enduro with the S-Works model coming with a custom Cane Creek Double Barrel Air rear shock. Interesting to see how it pedals considering that, unlike Fox Float CTD equipped Enduros, the Cane Creek shock does not have a separate climb setting. Also very interesting to see how the new Roval Traverse carbon wheels will perform on this bike.

We arrived at Bangkok this morning. What a contrast to Scandinavian weather - we enjoyed the Christmas at almost -30 degrees centigrade. We will team up with some members of our riding crew tomorrow. Besides celebrations the coming weeks gives once again a great opportunity for planning of some exciting 2013 rides.

Our Demo 8 I Carbon was scheduled to arrive in Europe in mid-September but ended up being delayed due to a suspension issue. The bike finally arrived to our dealer some three weeks ago and we picked it up earlier this week. Demo 8 I Carbon looks fantastic in its black/white bodywork and we can’t wait to get going with it. It will be a long wait, however, considering that the 2013 season is still many months away here up north.

With early snow and temperatures having collapsed to an unusually low -15 degrees centigrade in Stockholm, a nice sweater after an evening training can really make your day. Even though Houdini Sportswear, a Swedish company, was established already in 1993, it appears that the brand is not particularly well known to wider audience even in Sweden. Over the past few months, however, we started to hear more raving whispers about their products. With slightly sceptical minds we became curious and wanted to give a try to M's Power Houdi sweater to see if it really meets the hype. And what can we say? M's Power Houdi is a ridiculously comfortable and great feeling sweater with great design and nice selection of colours. We are not saying that we have tried each and every fleece or sweater on the market, but the Power Houdi certainly matches or surpasses the very best we have seen so far - its feeling against the skin has to be felt! For us, it really is a dream sweater for colder late-summer evenings and winter. And what a great Christmas gift it makes for somebody who enjoys quality sportswear with a beautiful design from a boutique brand. Availability Houdini Sportswear is probably very limited outside the Scandinavia but their webshop appears to deliver at least to a few countries in the continental Europe.

As the saying goes, time flies when you are having fun! And indeed, it's again time for our traditional Christmas lunch with some members of our riding crew. This annual lunch always takes place at the very same restaurant in the Helsinki downtown area. We have some very exciting plans for the 2013 riding season and tonight gives a great opportunity to further develop some of our ideas.

According to weather reports, Helsinki has got some 30-40cm of snow over the past 36 hours or so. Currently we are waiting for an early flight from Stockholm Arlanda, hoping that it will not be all too much delayed.

Today, Suunto made 2.0 version of the Ambit software available to users. After connecting Ambit to our MacBook Pro we got an error message saying "you need to update Moveslink before Suunto Ambit software update". Automatic Moveslink update, however, failed repeatedly. Luckily, a manual download of Moveslink from Suunto's website worked just fine. Reconnecting Ambit thereafter started the Ambit software update without problems. The issue in automatic update of the Moveslink seems to be documented by many fellow Ambit users. Obviously somebody at Suunto failed to make sure that the automatic Moveslink update works.

As a side note, we have been now using Ambit for less than a month, going running with it for some 15 times. Today, the unit suddenly lost the GPS signal and didn't manage to recover it. FAQ on Suunto's website advises to reset the GPS with a few presses of buttons to regain the GPS functionality. The reset seems to have fixed the problem with the GPS signal. We will get the final confirmation tomorrow.
